3 nuclear plant sites confirmed

Three locations - Lubiatow and a place near Krokowa at Zarnowieckie lake, both in Pomorskie voivodeship, and Gaski in Zachodniopomorskie voivodeship - have been pre-selected as future nuclear plant sites.

Easy access to water was one of priorities for selecting the places. All three locations were chosen by investing company PGE SA.

In the next two years no construction permits will be issued for other investments planned in these areas.

A series of geological and seismic studies will now be conducted.

“It is likely that investor will be able to apply for locialisation decision to decision Pomorskie Voivode in two years. However, there is a chance that none of these three localizations will be selected, it all depends from results of studies in the field,” the spokesman of the Voivode, Roman Nowak said.

The area near Gaski in Zachodniopomorskie is also under investigation.
