In January the ruling Civic Platform (PO) will submit a in vitro draft to the Sejm in January. Only after the bill is passed a discussion on financing of the cost of in vitro fertilization will take place, the author of the bill informs.

The deputy head of PO caucus and author of the bill, Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska says that it should take about six months to pass the bill and then refund of the in vitro can be discussed. “I hope that my bill project will be the only submitted by PO,” Kidawa-Blonska said.

According to Gazeta Wyborcza daily there is 50-50 chance that the bill will be passed with estimated 60 conservative deputies from PO in the Sejm, members od PiS and SP (Solidary Poland) against the rest of PO deputies and leftist SLD and RP. The votes of junior coalition partner, PSL might prove decisive.
